Dr. Michael Faulkner, Senior Professor, joined DeVry University in 2006 after spending 30 years in the private sector in sales and marketing management. Michael graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers with his BA. and holds an MBA from the NYIT, an MS in Direct and Interactive Marketing from NYU, and a PhD in Organizational Behavior from Union Institute and University.  Dr. Faulkner is a member of MENSA, and he is also actively engaged in scholarship – research, presenting research presentations at conferences, as well as having published 23 books, white papers, journal and magazine articles. 

Moral Capitalism Spotlight - "The Evolution of Morality, Technology, and Capitalism from Adam Smith to the AI Robotic Era"

In his essay, Dr. Faulkner discusses the impact of rapidly developing technologies of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics on capitalism and leadership styles. He explores the origins of morality and how it has evolved alongside human societies and cognitive capacities. Dr. Faulkner also presents two schools of thought regarding the origins of morality, with one suggesting that morality has evolved as an adaptive trait throughout human evolution, while the other suggests that humans have natural moral instincts. Finally, he touches upon the possibility of genetic engineering and synthetic biology altering human genes in the future.
