About The Authors – Moral Capitalism
Moral Capitalism: A Book of Essays is a collaborative effort of three editors and seven contributors sharing their individual and collective view of how Capitalism has been used immorally and how it can be used to lift others up. Each contribution is a unique aspect of this idea.

William K. Garrison, M.Ed., MBA is a Professor and Online Faculty Chair at DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management. He is the founder of Emerging Leadership Brand focusing on providing content and consultation for new leaders in medium and large companies and an expert on Generational Workforces and Motivational Leadership in the Workplace.


Robert L. Ramirez, DBA is an award-winning Professor of International Business and Faculty Chair at DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management. He is a published author and speaker with over four decades of experience in Education, Leadership, and Technology Management and is a thought leader in Cultural Intelligence and Diversity.

Dr. Paula C. Herring is a community engagement leader, interested in social entrepreneurship, emerging economies, adult education and social justice. Research focus in public speaking and publications  include field studies from Rwanda, women's motivation in business, non-profit management, and Global South.



Bashker “Bob” D. Biswas, Ph.D. is a Senior Professor and Faculty Chair at DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management. Dr. Biswas has authored and co-authored many articles in Accounting and Finance applied to Human Resource Management and has published two books: Compensation and Benefits Design: Applying Finance and Accounting to Global Human Resource Systems & Employee Benefits Design and Planning, A Guide to Understanding Accounting, Finance and Tax Implications. Dr. Biswas has spent almost 52 years in the field of HRM as an in-house professional all the way from an analyst to a VP of HRM, including as an HR Consultant in organizations such as PricewaterhouseCoopers and as a Professor of HRM since 1984.


John L. Murphy earned his Ph.D. in British and Irish Literature from UCLA. His M.A. is from Claremont, and his B.A. from Loyola Marymount. A native of Los Angeles, of Irish parentage, he's taught Humanities in Southern California universities for forty years. He's worked with the English Teachers Program for the Fulbright Commission in Quito. His research in the literary and cultural history of ideas ranges from medieval to modern. Currently, he delves into Ecuador, Franciscan + Jesuit thought, Irish Catholicism, and Irish- and Kichwa-language learning. He reviews books and music across many media.


Dr. Wayerski has over 30 years of professional experience in organizational leadership, operations, and human resource management. She has held various leadership positions as a business partner, administrator, and human resources director. She is continually active with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) academically, nationally, and locally. She is a professor and a faculty chair for DeVry University in the College of Business.


Dr. Michael Faulkner, Senior Professor, joined DeVry University in 2006 after spending 30 years in the private sector in sales and marketing management. Michael graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers with his BA. and holds an MBA from the NYIT, an MS in Direct and Interactive Marketing from NYU, and a PhD in Organizational Behavior from Union Institute and University.  Dr. Faulkner is a member of MENSA, and he is also actively engaged in scholarship – research, presenting research presentations at conferences, as well as having published 23 books, white papers, journal and magazine articles. 


Dr. Zahra Gorjian Khanzad; A strategic manager with deep academic roots. Dr.Gorjian embodies the spirit of strategic foresight and adaptability. Boasting 18 prolific years spanning diverse roles, from systems analysis to project leadership in different industries, including education, her journey in the high-tech sector has sharpened her innate strategic management acumen. Driven by a fervor for catalyzing digital transformation, particularly within SMEs and Nonprofits, she co-authored a compelling book titled "Nonprofit Digital Transformation Demystified: A Practical Guide," published by Springer professional, introducing innovative frameworks and models tailored for Nonprofit digitization. As a dedicated member of the San Diego Diplomacy Council's DEI committee and an Associate member of the International Society for Development and Sustainability (ISDS), her influence extends beyond management and academia into a commitment to advancing Nonprofits


Hormoz Mogarei has been in management since 1990, with 20 years of those, directly in “Lean” environment with Toyota and Toyota subsidiaries, both in the U.S. and in Japan. His claim to fame is to have achieved Zero-defects for 13-consecutive months, while at Toyota, producing a vehicle every 53-seconds with over 250,000 parts per day.


He is an international lecturer in countries such as Armenia, Brazil, China, Canada, Germany, and Japan, to name a few working with clients such as: United Nation, Boeing in Oregon, Applied Materials in Texas, Union Bank of California, Intel, Apple, SiTune, Stanford Hospitals & Clinics, Zazzle, UCSF, PlasmaTreat, Ascenx, and Altera. In addition to being the President/CEO of Get Kaizened, Inc., a Lean Consulting firm, Mr. Mogarei is the President of Brooks College, a Visiting Professor at UC Berkeley, DeVry & Keller universities, and the Silicon Valley Business Institute. His first book, An-Apple-A-Day was taught at UC Berkeley. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Organization Leadership, as well.


Professor Snyder was born in London, England, moved to the U.S. when she was 21 years old, and gradually found her way to Phoenix, Arizona, where she lives today. There is a world of difference in climate and environment, but she must say she loves the browns and purples of the desert landscape.

Her undergraduate work is in English Education, and her master's degree is in Educational Psychology. It's a wonderful mix that really helps in the classroom.
